Octoring

Opacity and colorshift PM (particulate matter) measurement instrument. Uses the OPT4048 optical sensor to detect smoke opacity and colorshift, positioned against continuous PM instruments evaluated in the LBNL/HPBA CRADA study. Independently evaluated by LBNL and published as LBNL-2001749 (March 2026).

• Opacity and colorshift measurement, rated for 1,000 hours of operation between cleaning.

• Transmits packet data (opacity, particle size/concentration, extinction, optical depth) for logging and dashboard display

Repeater

Wireless relay unit extending sensor range within the telemetry network (ESP-NOW based). Receives sensor transmissions and forwards them onward to the logger/receiver.

• Extends effective transmission range between sensor units and the logger

Logger

Data receiving and storage unit. Captures incoming sensor/repeater transmissions and stores them for review or dashboard use. This is useful for laboratories, R&D work and manufacturers preparing for certification.

• Receives and stores transmitted sensor data from multiple Octorings.

• Includes charting software. Review live data stream.

Dashboard

Software interface for visualizing live and historical sensor data (charts for opacity, particle size/concentration, extinction, and related metrics).
