I think we are using less fire wood. It does make the stove work better. Bran, my husband says he likes turning up the fan when there is a stubborn piece of wood that doesn’t want to burn.
Now when I start a fire I can shut the stove door after only 5 minutes and turn the fan up to 10 volts-full blast and get the house heated up quicker than without the fan and I don’t have to stay in the room and baby sit the fire anymore. Once the top of the stove heats up to 400 degrees, I turn off the fan. Then each time its reloaded the fan gets turned back on for a few minutes. We have been running outside to see if the chimney is smoking - it normally only smokes at the start up and the refilling and I think the fan is helping with that.

I'm sure I'm using less wood, but don't really know how to quantify that either, as I'm not sure how much I started with and I'm burning more than previous years since I'm not worried about the smoke.
I printed out the ringlemann scale today, but haven't been burning, so no data yet. I"ve been telling everyone how awesome it's working because the few times I did have a fire during the day, there was almost no smoke coming from the stack.

Thanks for letting me use the product. My occupation involves testing people within a confined space and there is often the question of the air quality within the test chamber. Using the Smokeless Chimney air monitor, I have been able to acquire data that shows CO2 levels were reaching levels that could have impact on the test subjects ability to perform. With this information, test procedures have been changed and our test protocol has been improved. Results were quick and easy to obtain and the data was consistent. I recommend this product.
